Felicia Finley Reviews

"Great Mood for a Tuesday" Album Reviews:

So, I sat down to listen to Felicia Finley’s album, Great Mood for a Tuesday, and after about thirty seconds I ejected the CD and headed for the car. With the windows open, top down and volume cranked I headed down A1A blasting Felicia Finley because that is how you listen to rock ‘n’ roll and that is the atmosphere that this album deserves. I hate to reiterate what others will say but yeah Felicia Finley totally rocks! Her vocals are, in a word, perfect. Very few have the chops to do what she does on this album (Pat Benetar is the only one who comes to mind as comparable), with a variety of songs that become a showcase of powerful vocals and incredible delivery in an expansive range. There is not one female singer on the radio today that could come close to pulling off what Felicia Finley does (p.s. don’t attempt to sing along in the car with the windows down- it just can’t be done). The music is tight and complete, never lacking for change. Each song is a well-crafted piece of audible art.

Great Mood For A Tuesday is a Classic Album

My House Tonight will catch your ears. It’s a classic “bad girl” song; incredibly catchy. My House Tonight is built on a classic Rhythm N Rock base with dynamic vocals like only Finley can deliver. You won’t be able to get this out of your head. If this song gets released in advance of summer, with the right push it could be everywhere. I think this is the type of rock song music fans are hungry for and it could be huge... [read more]

Great Mood For A Tuesday Sets the Mood for a Hot Saturday Night of Rock & Roll
“Lights up, the house lights up in flames,” Felicia Finley announces, striking the match to her Great Mood For A Tuesday release. She sparks this fire in her best Pat Benatar authoritative rock growl, as well. Even though Finley has a long list of Broadway musical credits, you’d probably never get that drift from this release; Great Mood For A Tuesday sets the mood for a hot Saturday night of rock & roll, and never lets up after that.... Felicia Can Sing More Than Just Show Tunes!
A typical release from a Broadway star is usually an album that contains lightweight, or “easy listening” music, but not “Great Mood For a Tuesday” from Felicia Finley. On this release, the actor/singer is able to let loose and give he inner “rock star” the chance to shine though. .... [read more]

Stories, My House Tonight, Great Mood Highlight the CD
The title track, ‘Great Mood for a Tuesday’ is a real genre-switch to a more laid-back place, to somewhere where the listener can let the performance wash over them right from the Dylanesque six-string intro that beautifully accompanies a lovely vocal performance from Felicia. And then at 1m 47s the track picks up its skirts, grows a new backbone and propels the listener to a whole new place. This is brilliant! .... [read more]

Diversity of this Album is a Welcome Change
The energy of Finley’s electric ambition is obvious on each song on the album. Whether it be a loud Pat Benetar anthem heard on “My House Tonight” and “Fire Escape,” or sweet sincerity of the poetry in “Blanket.” Intermixing the strengths of the band behind her and her vocal arrangements, the diversity of the album is a welcome change track to track. .... Whoever said rock & roll is dead obviously hasn’t heard Great Mood
Finley’s album is an adequate mixture of pop and rock with heavy 80s influence. With rock anthems and softer ballads, some have compared Finley to Pat Benatar and Sarah McLachlan, which doesn’t seem too far off. The original songs on her album are the perfect soundtrack to a summer road trip or a night out with the girls .... [read more]

Finley seems to "get" it.
She reminds me of Pink in a lot of ways and although she doesn't want to copy that (or any) artist, it's obvious Finley loves rock music. She has all the tools, the talent is there, and I think Finley has a better than average shot to make a go of it. .... [read more]

Read Felicia Finley's Broadway Reviews
In a show with so many highlights that is was blinding, one the highest was Alanis Morissette's "Forgiven," with Finley revisions. If she only stood at the mike and told family tales, she'd have a howl of a turn.Finley has a voice with all the power of a jackhammer, a face that fashion photographers would step all over each other to get to, and future at least as broad as the Great White Way....
